Robbie Ray of Davenport, Iowa leads the USAC Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car Series to its final event of the 2003 season this weekend at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

A 20-lap feature event is on tap at the ¼-mile paved oval Sunday afternoon, following Saturday night prelims.

Ray is headed for his initial USAC racing championship, but three drivers will battle for the runner-up position in the final standings. Trenton Darland of Lincoln, Ind., Tate Martz of Rushville, Ind. and Ryan Litt of Springfield, Ont., Canada are separated by only 41 points, with 72 available at Anderson.

Ray has a victory, second and fourth at Anderson already this year. Darland has a second and third at Anderson, while Litt has a fourth, fifth and sixth. Martz, with two victories on pavement already this year at South Bend, Ind., has yet to crack the "top-10" at the Anderson oval. Martz won the most recent series event, on the dirt at Lakeville, Ohio September 27.

This weekend's USAC Ford Focus race is part of Anderson's 6th Annual Weidner Chevrolet Stock Car Festival.
