BRENDAN LANGLOIS MOVES TO FORD FOCUS MIDGET
"Canadian pilot joins Ron Sutton's Winners Circle"
Kamloops, BC. -- March 19, 2008 -- After tearing up the junior karting ranks, 16-year-old Brendan Langlois has joined the Ron Sutton's Winners Circle Driver Development Program (RSWC) to help launch his car racing career. The RSWC is a program that is designed to nurture the career of aspiring drivers and help them make it to the upper echelons of Motorsports.
The RSWC program has speakers such as Ross Bentley and Wally Pancratz who have trained drivers including Kenny Schrader, Jeff Gordon and most recently Sam Hornish Jr and Patrick Carpentier. Drivers are trained on proper Motorsports nutrition, mental thinking, physical training, marketing and driver coaching. After completing six training seminars in the Sacramento area and miles of testing, the young and talented Langlois is ready to hit the track for his first racing action in his Ford Focus Midget over the Easter weekend at the Lake Havasu race circuit in Central Arizona.
Looking for a career in Motorsports, Langlois submitted his name and racing resume to the RSWC along with more than 600 other applicants and was selected to participate in the 20+ driver shootout based on his resume, a phone interview and lastly his driving abilities. With the shootout taking place at Roseville Speedway in California, Langlois impressed in his first time in the Ford Focus Midget placing him in the top of his age group and very close to older and more experienced drivers.
"This program has helped me so much over the past couple of months," explained Langlois from his Kamloops, British Columbia home. "Ron Sutton and all of the speakers really know their stuff and help bring the best out of all the drivers involved. I am happy to be part of this program and can't wait to get into the racing action."
Along with the 16 weekend Ford Focus Midget program, the Canadian driver will compete in other high profile events such as the annual Turkey Shootout in Irwindale in November. Langlois will also stay sharp with some testing on dirt ovals as well as return to his roots of karting with the FirstKart.com race team that helped him achieve his success in the 2007 racing season.
