USAC participants will split nearly $30,000 in total prizes from Holley Performance Products in 2004 as a result of expansion of the Earl's Plumbing USAC Fast Qualifier Championships.

"We have added the Ford Focus Midget Car Series to the mix," says USAC National Director of Sales & Marketing Steve Farmer. "In 2004, each of our three Ford Focus Series champions will join our National and Western driving champions as recipients of year-end bonuses from this extremely-competitive program."

J.J. Yeley and Tracy Hines each earned $10,000 as 2003 USAC Earl's Fast Qualifier Champions, while Michael Lewis also earned a $5,000 bonus as a result of this program.

"Expansion of our most recent new racing series will find three Ford Focus Midget Car regions in 2004," added Farmer. "We recognize the fact that some of these events will not include qualifying so we have devised an alternate points formula to apply. In the event qualifications are held, points will be awarded in the traditional fashion. When the special heat and passing point system is employed to determine the feature lineup, the first six feature starters will receive the Earl's points, and in the case of inverted feature starts, the sixth-starter would receive the nine points, fifth-starter six points, etc.

Points are traditionally awarded at each USAC event based on an international system awarding the top-six qualifiers with points in the following scale: 1st-9. 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th-3, 5th-2, 6th-1.

Each USAC National, Western and Ford Focus Midget Car Earl's Plumbing FQ Champion will be honored at USAC's Champions Night ceremony in Indianapolis in December. The National and Western FQ champs will receive $5,000 each, while the Ford Focus FQ champs will each receive $1,500.
