Seven different drivers are currently leading Earl's Plumbing Fast Qualifier standings in USAC racing series, eyeing year-end cash bonuses.
Drivers posting fast qualifying times in USAC events this past week included Levi Jones, Dave Darland and Tony Elliott (Valvoline National Sprint Cars), Greg Taylor and Michael Lewis (Valvoline Western Sprint Cars), Jerome Rodela (Western Midgets), Chase Scott (Carolina/Virginia Fords Focus) and Josh Lakatos (California Ford Focus).
Earl's points this week will be distributed to participants in USAC's Weld Racing Silver Crown Series (Milwaukee, WI), Valvoline National Sprint Car Series (Gas City, Lawrenceburg, Bloomington and Terre Haute, IN), National Midget Car Series (Milwaukee, WI), Valvoline Western Sprint Car Series (Salt Lake City, UT), Western Midget Series (Ventura, CA) and Ford Focus Series (Lakeville and Orrville, OH and Ventura, CA).
Points are traditionally awarded at each USAC event based on an international system awarding the top-six qualifiers with points in the following scale: 1st-9. 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th-3, 5th-2, 6th-1.
Each USAC National, Western and Ford Focus Midget Car Earl's Plumbing FQ Champion will be honored at USAC's Champions Night ceremony in Indianapolis in December. The National and Western FQ champs will receive $5,000 each, while the Ford Focus FQ champs will each receive $1,500.
