GARDNER ON A ROLL -- RETURNS TO PERRIS SATURDAY!

Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. is definitely on a roll as he defends his 2005 USAC/CRA Sprint Car title. He recorded his second consecutive feature victory Saturday night in the 30-lap main event at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. The series returns there this Saturday for another complete program of racing.

Despite Gardner's recent success he leads Cory Kruseman by just 15 points entering this weekend's event. Kruseman has notched one win, three seconds and a fourth in five races this year.

For the second race in a row Gardner and Kruseman swept to the top two spots, Kruseman leading the first 18 laps and Gardner the rest in his Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply/Arizona Race Mart Eagle/Shaver. Charles Davis Jr., Rip Williams and Tony Jones rounded out the "top-five" at the checkered flag.

Remarkably, Gardner again posted the fastest qualifying time in the 38-car field. He remains undefeated in qualifying this season through five events.
