Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. narrowed Rip Williams' point lead in the Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car standings to 26 after winning Saturday night's 30-lap feature at Hanford, Calif.

The series now prepares for back-to-back events at the Perris (Calif.) Speedway this Saturday, August 21 and Saturday night August 28.

Gardner passed Mike Kirby on the fifth lap at the 3/8-mile dirt Kings Speedway oval and led the rest of the way in his Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply/Arizona Race Mart John Boy/Shaver to beat Kirby, Peter Murphy, Williams and Terry Schank. Rodney Argo led the opening lap and Bobby Cody led lap two before Kirby led the next two laps.

Gardner, who also posted Saturday night's fastest qualifying time, now has won four of the last seven series features, including the most recent at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
