DAVID CARDEY TAKES SECOND IN USAC/CRA STANDINGS!

(DECEMBER 2, 2009, RIVERSIDE, CA) Riverside, California's David Cardey closed the most successful 410 Sprint Car season of his career with a sixth place finish in the 2nd Annual Glenn Howard Memorial at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday night. The veteran driver also sewed up second in the championship standings after a season long hard fought battle for the title.

Cardey began the last night of the year by setting the eighth fast qualifying time in (33 car field) the brilliant red iTi Viper 5 Bar Chassis/iTi Motorsports powered #38. He placed second in his ten-lap heat race before coming home sixth in the main event just behind series champion Mike Spencer.

The 34-year old racer's season was highlighted by three main event wins. Two came at Perris Auto Speedway and the other was in Petaluma when he swept the program on June 20th. In total, Cardey only missed one USAC/CRA main event all season long (Las Vegas February 25th) and did not miss any after rejoining with car owner Glen Crossno early in the year.

While the 2009 season has just ended, Cardey and the team are already hard at work for the 2010 campaign, which will begin in February.

David would like to thank all of his sponsors for making 2009 such a successful season: iTi Performance Motorsports, Franklin Rear Ends, Empire Plumbing, Racer's Pub, Amsoil, DWT Wheels, Circle Track Racing, Defender Products, Powell Pipe & Supply, Hoosier Tires, K&N Filters, 5-Star Gas & Gear and Scott Daloisio Sports.
