Muscle Milk Picket Racing (MMPR) made the news of their Tudor United Sports Car championship (TUSC) exit official this morning.
MMPR officially confirmed to Motorsport.com Thursday morning that their apparent exit from the TUSC is really happening. They also posted the news on their social media accounts to inform their many fans out there.
Muscle Milk Picket Racing, founded in 2007, kicked off the 2014 season with a 5th place finish in the 24 Hours of Daytona before mechanical issues severely hindered their efforts at Sebring. Before the ALMS/Grand-Am merger, they had won both the 2012 and 2013 ALMS P1 titles with drivers Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr.
There's a big question mark surrounding what this team will do next, and bigger questions surrounding the future of P2 cars in the Tudor United Sports Car championship. Yesterday, Motorsport.com revealed the MMPR news and also talked about the possibility of P2 cars being a thing of the past if this unsettling trend of those teams pulling out continues.
