Mexican prototype driver Memo Gidley has undergone a second surgery to repair the fracture in his back.
Memo Gidley has undergone a second surgery to stabalize and fix the fracture in his back, according to a statement released by Gainsco/Bob Stallings Racing.
The surgery is the prototype drivers second since the scary accident with Risi Competizione driver Matto Malucelli during the third hour of racing in this past weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Both drivers were brought to hospital, with Malucelli being released Sunday with a severe concussion.
Friends and co-drivers, such as Mike Gausch have visited the Mexican in hospital, and shared their good wished via Twitter.
"I visited Memo in the hospital. He will be OK, needs time to heal up, lots of surgery, pins and rods, bionic Memo Gidley coming soon,” Gausch said.
