Another driver in our large community of racers has passed on today, as Emilio di Guida suffered an apparently heart attack today.
Emilio Di Guida passed away today at the age of 50 in his Florida home.
Di Guida was known for his participation in the American Le Mans Series and Rolex Sports Car Series in the past few years.
Di Guida apparently passed away from a heart attack while jogging.
His most recent successes in North America included a pair of top fives in 8Star’s Corvette DP with Sebastien Bourdais as well as wins in the GTC class in 2012 with TRG.
He got his start in racing in his home country of Venezuela, and claimed the Venezuelan GT Junior championship, Mustang Cup, Chevrolet Corse, Aveo Cup, Fiat Palio Cup and the Chrysler Neon Cup in his career.
