While the car is making its debut in Daytona, the brass back at Corvette Racing are already working on customer deals to send the American marque all over the racing world.

SportsCar365 is reporting that Doug Fehan, with Corvette Racing said the team is in contact with Larbe Competition in France regarding the customer program.

The French squad campaigns cars in the World Endurance Championship, in the GTE-Am category. Current regulations mean the C7.R is ineligible in the class, as it is not more than one year old.

“We lobbied to get current model year cars approved for GTE-Am,” Fehan told Sportscar365.

“My strong feeling was that it wasn’t going to get approved. That was OK, we needed to take a run at it and at least open the door and have people begin thinking about that.”

If the team is unable to compete in the GTE-Am, they might look at entry into GTE-Pro, or at the ELMS.

Fehan also admitted that the team is ready to deliver a car now, but have had no other teams interested.
