Al Carter traveled north of the border to Canada last week with great expectations to score a top result in both, the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race and the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Mobil1 SportsCar Grand Prix presented by...

Following a huge accident during the start of the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen, Al Carter’s No. 7 Rebel Rock Racing /B+ Foundation/Caramba Tequila/Eagle Tech Systems/Sideskinz/Stinkerz Porsche 997was totally rebuilt by Rebel Rock Racing team and the two Rebel Rock racers drove almost a brand new car in Canada. On Wednesday during the promoter test day held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park to prepare for the race Carter and co-driver Brett Sandberg were one of the fastest Porsches. In qualifying on Friday, Al Carter did a great job and qualified 10th, the first Porsche car in the field. In the race Carter was able to contend with the best CTSCC drivers during his one hour stint before handing the 7 car to Brett Sandberg. Sandberg had a good race and battled all the way to the end to finish 10th.

The race will be broadcast live at Imsa.com and on Sunday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Fox Sports 1. The next Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race is scheduled for Friday, July 25 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Carter’s TRG-AMR TUDOR Championship team brought their N. 007 B+ Foundation/Jetset Magazine/Caramba Tequila/Eagle Tech Systems /Sideskinz/PassTime/Adobe Road Winery/Royal Purple Aston Martin V12 Vantage thinking that like in Detroit the car will finish in the top five. In practice James Davison was fast and qualified 8th on Saturday. In the race, Al Carter took a good start but immediately faced brake problems forcing him to drive with care to avoid off track excursions and loss of positions. Despite the problems, Carter did an excellent job and was able to finish his one hour stint in good shape. James Davison took over for the rest of the race and he too was able to understand the seriousness of the braking issues after less than a lap. Davison was able to drive hard and take the 007 Aston Martin to a 9th place but at the end, after the last pit stop, Davison returned to the track in 12th place and despite his fighting spirit, the N. 007 B+ Foundation/Jetset Magazine/Caramba Tequila/Eagle Tech Systems /Sideskinz/Adobe Road Winery/PassTime/Royal Purple Aston Martin crossed the finish line in 12th place.
