NOTE 1 - BACKGROUND STATS. Ranks eighth in the points standings. Finished third at Trois-Rivieres, his first podium finish since Mosport in 2000. Has seven top-ten finishes in 11 starts. In 2001, finished 11th in the points standings. Had five top-ten finishes and two "Fast Five" starts. In 2000, was voted "Most Improved Driver". Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999.

On his race and off-track excursion. "I wish we hadn't restarted when we did. That oil dry came back to bite me. I was executing a pass and drove right through the oil dry and went sailing off the left hander after the esses. I drove all the way across the grass then came back on the course. But I had to come and pit to remove the field that had suddenly sprouted up in my front screen!

"We had such a good car today, it's a shame that we didn't get a chance to show it there at the end. I ran my fastest lap of the weekend during the race. We all ran hard all day, every lap."
