VANCOUVER ADDED TO TRANS-AM SCHEDULE: The Molson Indy Vancouver, at the Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, has been added to the 1999 BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series schedule, bringing the number of races to 13 for this season's championship. The Saturday feature race, part of the Molson Indy Vancouver weekend, September 3-5, will be the first time the Trans-Am has competed at the Vancouver street circuit, a venue headlined by the CART FedEx Championship Series. The Trans-Am has competed four times (1977, '78, '79 and '80) in the greater Vancouver area, racing at the Westwood Motorsports Park in Port Coquitiam, B.C. "We're pleased to announce the addition of this new West Coast event to the schedule," said Scott Rittinger, Trans-Am Series General Manager. "Vancouver is important for the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series because it continues our growth on existing high-profile weekends and will serve to increase our exposure to new audiences and markets."
