Scott Pruett, driver of the no. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR, scored the flag-to-flag win in today's Trans-Am race after starting on the pole...has five wins in seven starts...has six poles...has 19 career Trans-Am Victories...extended his lead in the points standings.

NOTE 1 -- Pruett won both the BFGoodrich Tires "Take Control" award as well as the Flowmaster "American Thunder Challenge" award today. Pruett's win was Jaguar's first victory at Trois-Rivieres.

NOTE 2 -- TROIS-RIVIERES STATS...Pruett has only one previous start here...Single start was in 1994 when he qualified second and finished 10th.

NOTE 3 -- BACKGROUND STATS...Ranks first in the points standings...In 2003, has five wins...Raced in the NASCAR Winston Cup race at Infineon Raceway in June finishing 24th due to contact while running sixth...Has two Trans-Am Drivers' Championships (1987, 1994)...In 2002, did not compete in the Trans-Am Series...Competed in Winston Cup in 2000...Competed several seasons in CART Champ Car Series, scoring two wins...Has two IMSA GTO Drivers' Championships (1986, 1988).

On his race today...We've won a lot of races, but I was telling Calvin Fish (SPEED pit reporter) that I was pretty nervous coming into this race at Trois-Rivieres. Johnny (Miller) was tough all day long. He really turned the heat on and picked the pace up. He's got a lot of experience in these cars and was able to run us hard.

"One of the things we've learned is you can't run the cars too hard because you've got to have a good enough car at the end. But the Rocketsports team did a really good job to have three cars up here today.

"This was a tough day. It was a really tough day. The car is pretty worn out. We're out of car, tires, brakes...and driver. This is the toughest race track of the whole season."
