On his qualifying effort... "The track is fun; it's more fun than I remembered from the last time. Actually, we were a little disappointed. We thought we'd go quite a bit quicker. We made some gears changes because we were on the rev limiter pretty hard in top gear, and the guys were rushed. I mean, we barely made it out there (to qualify). But we did, it wasn't the best, but it was good enough to get the job done. But we'll go back and work on it and see if we can get a better race car.

"This will probably be our toughest race. My last race here was pretty ugly."

On the importance of qualifying up front... "It's very important to start here in the front two rows. Crazy things happen here, including rain. If we're not smart as drivers, someone back in fourth or fifth can get us at the end. It's difficult to pass and we run close together. We know that to win this race, you've got to be there at the end, so we need to take care of the car, specifically the tires and brakes."
