Paul Fix battles at 3 Rivers in Trans-Am after driving double duty.

Trois-Rivieres, Quebec (August 4, 2002) As the green flag dropped at the Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres (Three Rivers), the excitement started at 1.52-mile (11 turn) street circuit. The Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup, began with Paul Fix taking two spots on the opening lap after starting 13th. Five laps later an electrical problem plagued the #77 www.FitDV.com Jaguar XKR. The team went to work on repairing the issue quickly. Paul then took charge and laid down some of the best laps of the weekend. Passing as many cars until the checker dropped leaving Paul in 11th place.

Paul Fix did double duty this weekend by also racing in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in a prototype in the LMP 675 class, with veteran racer Melanie Paterson of Toronto, Ontario, in a Lola B2K-Nissan fielded by Essex Racing of Atlanta. They had a great weekend and finished 3rd, for their first podium finish as rookies in ALMS.

Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres (Three Rivers) has been a popular and successful motorsports event for 33 years, making it one of North America's longest-running street racing events. Trois-Rivieres becomes a festival city for the annual Grand Prix, with many events going on in addition to what happens on the American Le Mans Series and Trans Am. The race aired LIVE on the Speed Channel.

The next Trans-Am race is Sat., Aug. 17 for the Texaco-Havoline 200 Elkhart Lake, WI. The race will air on Sunday, August 18th at 12:00 PM EST
