Portland, Ore., - The SCCA Trans-Am Championship enters Round Five of its 30th season with the Trans-AM Classic, Sunday's feature race during the Rain-X Rose Cup Weekend at Portland International Raceway.

The 52-lap, 101.4-mile race is slated to start at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 18, the series' 19th visit to Portland, dating back to 1975. Rast race winners include Paul Gentalozzi, Greg Pickett and Ron Fellows, who will be shooting for a new PIR Trans-Am record, three consecutive victories.

After four races, Tom Kendall leads the Drivers' Championship point standings with 118, followed by Dorsey Schroeder, 102, Ron Fellows, 95, Boris Said, 83, and Brian Till, 80 points. Chevrolet and Ford are tied at 30 points each in the Manufacturers' Championship point standings.

Sunday's Trans-AM race will be broadcast on the Prime Sports Channel Network, Sunday, June 25th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET.

SCCA Club Racing and the Portland Region will run a National and Regional along with the Trans-Am. Those of you in this area should check this out. It should be an action packed weekend.
