The stars of old continue to flock back to Trans-Am. NBC racing commentator and two-time Trans-Am champion Wally Dallenbach Jr. will be driving a Chevrolet Camaro in the TA2 class in this November's finale at Daytona International Speedway.
Dallenbach said in a release that he hopes to be racing in the series full-time next year. He won Trans-Am championships in both 1985 and 1986. After a successful sports car racing career that saw him secure victories in the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring multiple times, he made the switch to NASCAR.
Following a decade-long hiatus from full-time competition, the 51-year-old is back and ready to win once more.
