Revolution Motorsports surrenders qualifying for race setup
Hayner to start 7th while Sak starts 11th

Sonoma, Calif. -- June 22, 2003 -- Revolution Motorsports decided to use today's qualifying session to focus on race day setups for the fifth round of the Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup, here at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. It was decided by team owner, Don Sak, his crew chief and drivers that after seeing Jaguars dominate the grid for half the season, the team's efforts would be better spent working on actual race setups and race day strategy.

"Our philosophy is, we come to race," said Sak. "We need to find a way to win. I have confidence in my team and in my driver's ability to drive smart and protect their equipment. It appears we've been smarter on race day by letting the race come to us and playing all the variables the 100 miles brings into the mix. If that's the strength we have, then that's the strength we need to work with. I have complete confidence that my guys will find a way to get the job done."

Stu Hayner will start the #2 Trenton Forging / GMAC Commercial Finance Corvette in seventh place.

"We're actually right in the thick of it," said Hayner. "After the pole sitter, you've got six cars all within a half second of each other. That's pretty tight for a track like this. Looking at the other five cars, I like our chances employing the race strategy we have. If we can keep the wheels on the car we'll be there at the end. We think tires are going to be the key."

Teammate, Bobby Sak, driver of the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette, will start from the 11th spot.

"I'm trusting my team on this one," acknowledged Sak. "When we discussed the strategy of spending less effort on qualifying an focusing on the race, it made a lot of sense. I need more seat time on this track-- so, I'll pay attention on race day and try to get hooked up with Stu. We worked that well in Mosport and I think we can do it again here."
