Famous Trans-Am Roush Racing Mustang to Return to the Glen

Watkins Glen, New York: Remember the days of Trans-Am at the Glen? They are being relived at the Glen for the annual Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 8-10.

Now you can see the JPS Roush Trans-Am Mustang return to the Glen. The famous black and gold JPS Mustang will return in the original racing livery of the 80's. Yes, the car that Robert Lapalainen drove to win the championship. This chassis has had many famous drivers including: Scott Pruett, Ricky Rudd, Kyle Petty, Ken Shrader, Bill Elliot, Pete Halsmer, and Robert Lapalainen. This Roush chassis ran in IMSA GTO and GTX, SCCA Trans Am and the 24 Hour of Daytona events.

The current driver, Lauren Fix, also has an interesting background. Racing since 1981, in SCCA, FIA-ASN, SVRA, and HSR, Lauren has multiple racing wins in her history. Lauren has been seen and heard on CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC, and radio stations from coast to coast as "America's Premier Automotive Expert". Lauren will be piloting the JPS Mustang this weekend in group 10.
