Johnny Miller, driver of the no. 64 Automationdirect/Eaton Cutler-Hammer Jaguar XKR, finished fifth after qualifying third.

NOTE 1 - BACKGROUND STATS...Has three top-three finishes, four top-five finishes, and nine top-ten finishes in ten starts...In 2001, finished a career-best third in the points standings, after ranking first or second most of the season...In 2001,had five top-three finishes and completed every lap of every race...Earned the Owners' Championship for Rocketsports...Has 31 career top-five finishes...In 2000, scored his first career Trans-Am win at San Diego...Voted "Most Improved Driver" for 1998...Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1996.

On his race today... "We needed a caution today and it just didn't happen. We ran them down as hard as we could, but it just wasn't enough.

"I got held up on the start which allowed Boris (Said) to get a good launch. Paul (Gentilozzi, his teammate) and I had a good time today. I was a little quicker early on and he seemed like he wanted to race early. But then we must have both gotten a little mental telepathy going because we both tucked in and waited for the caution. We figured we'd bunch up, go on, and race...except that the caution never came.

"If we'd had that caution, it might have been a real interesting race. Both Paul and I were as quick as Boris and Butch and it would have made for some good, solid racing."
