Ruman Heads to SCCA Trans-Am Series Season Finale at Road Atlanta, GA
Braselton, GA -- Fresh off her 3rd place finish in the GT-1 SCCA National Championship Runoffs race held at Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI, Amy Ruman and the team headed directly to the SCCA Trans-Am Season Finale at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA, part of the ALMS Petit Le Mans week.
The Road Atlanta venue was the 2009 season opener for the Trans-Am Series, and Ruman took the #23 McNichols Co./Goodyear/Cenweld Corvette to the checkered in 3rd place for her first career Trans-Am podium finish.
Drivers will take to the track starting Tuesday, September 28th for a promoter's test day. The official event begins Wednesday with two practice sessions at 10:55 am and 6:00 pm, followed by one qualifying session Thursday morning at 11:45 am. The 36-lap, 90-mile Trans-Am race will start at 4:35 pm on Friday.
"I am really excited to be back to Road Atlanta, especially because the ALMS Petit Le Mans week is such a great event," said Ruman. "There will be a lot of spectators and fans here, and I know we will put on a great show for them. I hope to finish out our season with one more podium finish for our sponsors and team!"
