NOTE 2 -- BACKGROUND STATS...Ranks 11th in the points standings...Has one career Trans-Am win, in 2000 at Long Beach...In 2003, has two top-ten finishes...Voted "Most Improved Driver" in 2000...Won "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999.

On his qualifying session ... "I'm just lucky to be able to be there (racing). I always say that you do the best with what you've got; that's what racing is about.

"I wish I had a little more knowledge about setting up a car. I
used my brakes more than I wanted to. But we had a good car. I can do
what I did today all day long. I think I'm going to win.

"This has been a tough year. I've missed out on opportunities to run 100 miles with guys like Pruett and Miller. We had some tough breaks. So this feels really great.

"I love street course races. The less experience you have, the more you need to focus. And racing on a street course definitely makes you more focused. I'm still young in terms of my driving experience, but I think with a little time, opportunity, and a good team like Rocketsports, I can drive for the championship in a couple of years."
