NOTE 2 - BACKGROUND STATS...Finished third at Trois-Rivieres, his first podium finish since Mosport in 2000...Has six top-ten finishes in ten starts...In 2001, finished 11th in the points standings...Had five top-ten finishes and two "Fast Five" starts...In 2000, was voted "Most Improved Driver"...Won the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999.

On his race today... "I thought I was done breaking things this weekend. I tagged the tire wall in the first practice session on Friday. Then, during a `guest chef' promotion at Benihana's, I flipped a bowl of hot rice, managing to both break the bowl and burn my hand, and then I hit the wall pretty good this morning and got a sore neck. I thought bad things happen in threes, and it was all over.

"And then I had the race. Mike Lewis held me up. He was so slow. Every time we got side by side, he just ignored the fact that I was there. This happened three or four times and I didn't want to spin him to get by him. It's like having a high school without a good principal - there's anarchy and you never get to your goal"

"Then Paul Fix hit me from behind when I was being held up. I had no where to go or I would have. Then I got tagged by Simon Gregg under yellow. I must have been the `designated hittee' this weekend. But it doesn't really matter because I won't be racing with these guys much longer.

"The rear end contact lifted the rear deck and we had to come in to take care of that and fix the throttle return spring.

"Even with everything that happened, we still managed to come home with 11th place. We'll take it and head to Atlanta looking for more points."
