Detroit - May 23, 2002-- Returning to the track where he enjoyed his career best finish, 17-year Trans-Am veteran Don Sak is upbeat about being back at Lime Rock Park. Sak has good reason to be excited because, for the first time, he arrives with his new Revolution Motorsports team which puts Sak is in his best position ever for a podium finish." This is a great track," Don said. Both the team and I feel very good coming here after our weekend in Mosport. It wasn't a perfect outing, but we learned, we grew, and most important, we had fun. I'm real proud of everyone's effort."
Don will climb back in the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette after giving the controls to his son, Bobby Sak, last week in Mosport.
Stu Hayner, driver of the #02 Trenton Forging/Revolution Motorsports Corvette, shared Sak's optimism."Mosport was very important to us all," he said."We learned a great deal about the cars and ourselves. It was good for Shane (Revolution Motorsports Crew Chief / Manager Shane Duhaime) and his crew to see their hard work pay off. We were fast, reliable and the cars handled great. We know what we have to do and we know we have the talent on the team to get the job done. This is great.... this is fun!"
"I'm excited about Lime Rock," Hayner continued." We saw how the car worked in traffic in our run at Mosport. Lime Rock Park is a short track... it will really show what the Corvette can do. The car has excellent downforce and works real well in traffic. The Corvette will be good here. Of course, he added, everyone will be keeping an eye on Butch Leitzinger and current points leader, Boris Said. They have both logged quite a few laps at Lime Rock. We'll be ready, though!"
In association with Trenton Forging, Revolution Motorsports campaigns two 2002 Chevrolet Corvettes contending the 2002 Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. Trans-Am has thrilled racing fans for longer than any other American road racing series and the 2002 season has been no different.
