Dedicated team works hard to keep Paul Fix on course.
Buffalo, NY (September 1, 2002) - Paul Fix, driver of the #77 Hotel Monaco Jaguar, broke his shifter off in his hand on lap 10. A team member ran back to the hauler, took the shifter off a spare transmission, ran back to pit road and completed the required repairs while the rest of team prepped the car for the new piece. Paul saw the checkered flag as he finished the day 29 laps down in 16th place.
"It's rare to break a shifter housing but it was amazing to watch the whole team jump in and put the car together while I remained in the car ready to go." "We had to complete the show for the sponsor, they loved it, they're coming back next year for more."
