Paul Fix Doubles Down At Denver

August 13, 2005, Denver, CO - Overcoming a potential mechanical disaster, Paul Fix powers through a transmission failure in the #77 Stopflex/9 News-NBC/ Hotel Monaco/ Drive! Mustang, enroute to his trifecta GT-1 win. Fix won his second consecutive GT-1 race at theDenver Grand Prix for the Cytomax Sport Drink 100.

Fix started 1st in GT-1 and 8th overall on the grid. Paul dogged fellow Trans-Am competitor for most of the race and was ready to pass him when his transmission lost 2nd and 3rd gear.

"It was really frustrating when the tranny broke, this is the second year in a row that I had to nurse it home for a victory."

"With about fifteen minutes to go I had to hold the car in gear, my arm was starting to get tired. I had hoped to finish higher up, but we achieved what we came here for, the needed GT-1 points to win the championship," stated Fix.

The team now heads to Road America for the second to last event on the 2005 calendar next weekend. Paul looks forward to sustaining the momentum and take over the GT-1 points championship.

The Cytomax Sport Drink 100, Grand Prix of Denver is August 12 - 13, 2005 and race coverage will air August 20th at 01:00 PM on SPEED.
