AUTOMATIONDIRECT.COM TO SPONSOR ROAD ATLANTA BFGOODRICH TIRES TRANS-AM SERIES RACE

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-Automationdirect.com has been named race sponsor for the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series July 25 event at Road Atlanta, in Braselton, Ga.

The race will be called the Automationdirect.com Trans-Am 100, headlining the Trans-Am Southern Dash weekend, featuring the SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am, the Speedvision World Challenge Championships, the Pro Spec Racer series and the U.S. F2000 National Championship presented by Speedvision.

In addition to sponsoring the Road Atlanta Trans-Am race, Automationdirect.com, based in Cumming, Ga., is also the primary sponsor of Johnny Miller IV's No. 64 Automationdirect.com Chevrolet Camaro in the Trans-Am Series.

"We're pleased that Automationdirect.com will sponsor its 'hometown' Trans-Am race," said Scott Rittinger, BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series General Manager. "The ever-increasing involvement of Trans-Am Series sponsors demonstrates the progress we've made in revitalizing North America's longest-running road racing series."

The Trans-Am Series last competed at Road Atlanta in 1995, a contest won by Tom Kendall. The Automationdirect.com Trans-Am 100 will be the Trans-Am Series' 11th race at Road Atlanta, dating to 1973.

"When we learned the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series was to return to Georgia this year we saw this as an ideal opportunity to increase our motorsports involvement beyond our sponsorship of Johnny Miller's No. 64 Automationdirect.com Camaro," said Tim Hohmann, founder and company captain of Automationdirect.com. "Sponsoring the Automationdirect.com Trans-Am 100 is a natural extension of our Trans-Am Series involvement and the perfect chance to promote our name before an enthusiastic 'home' crowd."

"Road Atlanta is helping to lead a revival of successful events at traditional road racing venues by offering our fans complete race weekends that feature top competition in a variety of racing series," said Tres Stephenson, Road Atlanta Executive Director. "We're continually seeking ways to increase the value of our events for our fans, the competitors and our sponsors, and when a Georgia-based company, such as Automationdirect.com, chooses to sponsor one of our races it indicates we're on the right track."
