Vernon,BC- Trent Seidel of Saskatoon blasted his Monte Carlo into the lead on lap 58 of the 104-lap Miller & Wyatt/Rock 104.7-sponsored second leg of the ACDELCO Late Model Tour on Saturday night and captured his third consecutive Tour trophy.
Seidel, who won last season's closing race and the first race of the 2001 campaign - both run at Calgary's Race City Motorsport Park - prevailed over a strong field of Late Models from cities all over Western Canada at this weekend's event at Sun Valley Motor Speedway near Vernon.
The Saskatoon driver, defending his three consecutive Tour championships, may well be on his way to a fourth as his win at Sun Valley lengthened his lead over Barry Bischoff and Bill Royce, both of Calgary, who sit second and third in the points with three races to go.
The ACDELCO Late Model Tour next convenes at Bridge City Speedway in Saskatoon, Seidel's home track but one on which he has never won a Tour event, on July 28.
