VERNON, NY - Morning and afternoon rains plus a forecast for more rain throughout the Central New York area this evening forced New Utica-Rome Speedway track promoter Eric Kingsley to cancel the racing scheduled for Sunday June 3 at the speedway. This is the second consecutive rainout at the popular half-mile track this season, out of the five scheduled events to date.

Scheduled was the rained out F.X. Caprara Car Companies / Nice N' Easy Grocery Shoppes program from last Sunday May 27, featuring the WWF Monster Trucks plus the DIRT 358-Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks. The entire program, including the WWF Monster Trucks, has been rescheduled for Sunday August 12.

Coming up this Sunday June 10 will be a regular program of DIRT 358-Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Slingshots plus the always popular One-On-One Spectator races. The gates will open at 4pm, with Slingshot heats taking the green at 5:45pm and racing beginning at 6pm.

The track is located just east of the village of Vernon on Route 5 and is easily accessible from New York State Thruway Exit 33. Free parking and overnight camping is allowed on speedway grounds.
