VERNON, NY - An entertaining $500 to win Demolition Derby will help end the 2000 racing season at the New Utica-Rome on Friday September 22 after the evening's scheduled racing events. Slated is the Sunoco Race Fuels 358 Modified Super DIRT Series for a 100-lap special and the ARANY Pro Stock Super DIRT Series plus a Pure Stock feature. Race time is set for 7pm.

Demolition Derbies have always been popular with Utica-Rome race fans. Earlier this season, in a 12-car derby held on the frontstraight, Harold Kitchen survived and won the special event. At least 15 cars are expected for the derby on September 22, and it will be a great way to cap off the 2000 season at Utica-Rome. Race fans can expect to see a lot of smashing and crashing in the popular derby.

Rules for the Demolition Derby (created by DIRT Motorsports) may be obtained on the New Utica-Rome Speedway website at http://www.newuticaromespeedway.com/demoderbyrules.htm.
