VERNON -- With rain falling at the speedway all night and more forecasted to arrive during the day, Utica-Rome Speedway management was forced to postpone the evening's events until this Friday, September 20th.

Racing will now return to the speedway this Friday when FX Caprara Car Companies presents the 100 lap Turning Stone Casino DIRT 358-Modified Championship Series and the 25 lap Empire Sports Network Super DIRT Series event for Pro Stocks. A $500 to win Demolition Derby is also scheduled. Gates will open at 4pm, time trials starting at 6:30pm, and racing action beginning at 7pm.

Utica-Rome Speedway regulars Matt Sheppard, Mitch Gibbs, Ryan Baye, Gordy Button, and Jason Barney look to hold DIRT superstars such as Steve Paine, Pete Bicknell, Vic Coffey, Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, and Alan Johnson. Danny Johnson seems to hold the upper hand in 358-Modified action at the speedway, winning three of the six total DIRT 358-Modified tour events ever held at Utica-Rome Speedway. Danny Johnson also won the Turning Stone Casino DIRT 358-Modified Championship opener held at the speedway on June 19th. Other drivers expected to be in competition are Jack Johnson, Todd Burley, Frankie Caprara, Pat Ward, Justin Haers, and many others.

Utica-Rome Speedway is located on Route 5 in Vernon, just a short drive from the New York State Thruway Exit 33. For more information, call the speedway office at (315) 829-4557 or log on to the website at www.uticaromespeedway.com.
