Detroit, Michigan- August 19th, 2003 - USPRO Cup Racing Inc. has announced that the USPRO Cup Series 75 lap race scheduled for September 5th at Dixie Speedway has been cancelled.

"We tried to work out a contract for the September 5th race but was unable to. Mike Kern and I just couldn't come anywhere close to an agreement on the financial end of this date. It's really sad as the series officials, teams and drivers were looking forward to bringing a great event to Dixie's race fans but in the end it wasn't meant to be, " said Ron Varney Jr., President of USPRO Cup Racing.

The series said they are working on a replacement event to replace the September 5th race that was to be held at Dixie.

"We are currently talking to a couple other promoters and may have an additional race date yet this fall to announce. Negotiations are continuing with these promoters. It's been a difficult year for some promoters and so are trying to help out one or two and bring our series to their track. We will release information at a later date once we know if we were able to get a season ending race date," Varney said.
