Mooresville, North Carolina (February 18, 2002) - Shane Wallace Motorsports heads to Lakeland (Fla.) for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series season opener with their sights firmly set on some major accomplishments. Shane Wallace, 18, has declared his assault on the USAR“ Rookie of the Year” award for the upcoming season. Wallace, who will graduate from Mooresville (N.C.) High School in May, heads to the USA International Speedway with his family owned #4 Ford Taurus led by Crew Chief Darren Shaw.
“ I am very thankful to my family for this opportunity and we are really focused on our goal of winning the Rookie award as well as running up front on a regular basis”, stated.
Wallace. “ The team has worked very hard during the off season to provide me with quality equipment and we are very confident in what we are taking to the track. This team will be a competitive force throughout the 2002 season and we look to make a solid run at the end of the year and the Championship races.”
The team also announces the addition of Engine Ice as a co-primary sponsor on the #4 Ford Taurus. “We welcome the addition of a quality product and company such as Engine Ice to our program”, added team owner Ned Wallace. “ We appreciate their support and we look to assist them in their marketing efforts throughout the season.”
Engine Ice is a Hi-Performance Coolant produced by Cyclelogic Products, Inc. out of Boynton Beach, Florida. “ We are proud to be moving into the auto racing market after dominating the motorcycle market,” stated President Dave Kimmey. “ We are excited about becoming involved with the #4 Shane Wallace team and their professional organization. We believe that they can help us prove that Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is of the utmost quality and can provide the needed cooling to make it to the winner’s circle.”
Also, the team is currently looking for additional sponsorship to add to the Engine Ice program. “ We feel we have a quality product in motorsports marketing with this young Rising Star”, stated Ned Wallace. “ With the resources that have been put into this program along with the television package of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup series– we feel our team presents companies with a strong marketing tool that is very much needed in today’s marketplace.”
The USAR Hooters Pro Cup season opens at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida on Saturday, February 23rd with race time at 7:30 p.m.
