FAYETTEVILLE, GA (July 23, 2000) -- United Speed Alliance Racing president Gene Cox has announced the addition of Tony Cox to the USAR Hooters ProCup Series corporate staff. Tony Cox will assume duties as Director of Series Development for the touring series. "We are happy to have Tony on board with us," said Gene Cox. "As USAR prepares to expand series awareness we feel that Tony's 18 years of involvement in racing, along with his commitment to succeed, will play an important role in the future development of the series. Tony will be instrumental in putting our long range plans into motion." Tony Cox, a 1994 graduate of Clemson University, looks forward to the challenge ahead. Tony will be in charge of researching new facilities to possibly host USAR Hooters ProCup races in the future as well as geographic expansion of the series. "I am very excited about this opportunity," said Tony Cox. "USAR has grown in leaps and bounds in a very short time and I hope to be able to help this series continue to grow and keep improving each year. We have a lot of work to do before next season and we are ready to put a plan in motion. I am proud to be part of this team." USAR is based in Fayetteville, Georgia and is the sanctioning body of the Hooters ProCup Series. Currently the series competes in 20 races per year in six southeastern states from February through November, however, long range plans call for a geographical expansion of the series. "We have grown faster than I think anyone ever imagined," said Gene Cox. "We want to make sure we have everything in place before we begin expanding our series and Tony will help us make it happen."
