Richmond, VA (January 26, 2001) -- Talmadge Motorsports announced today it has signed veteran short track driver Freddie Query to drive its Chevrolet in the United Speed Alliance Racing Hooters ProCup Series this season.

"This is the opportunity our team has been looking for this winter," said car owner Frazier Boyd.

Query has an extended history in stock car racing and has competed with USAR when it operated the Hooters Cup Series during the mid 1990's. Query also has competed in NASCAR Busch Series competition and most recently served as a crew chief in the series.

"I am very happy to have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a race car again," said Query. "Mr. Boyd has made a commitment with this team and we will field car capable of winning in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series. I look forward to competing against some of the best short track drivers in the nation."

Talmadge Motorsports will compete in the Southern Division of the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and will also compete in selected events on the northern schedule. Query will also challenge for the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year Award this season.

"Our goal is to get the team ready for the season-opening race as USA International Speedway in February and finish in the top 25 in points and then run for the championship in the Four Champions Championship Series," added Boyd.

Talmadge Motorsports competed in five USAR Hooters ProCup Series races in 2000 with Billy Morris driving a Chevrolet. The team recorded its lone top-10 finish of the season at South Boston Speedway in August.
