Southern National Speedway to host Hooters ProCup Series

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- Southern National Speedway might be just the doctor ordered for Bobby Gill. Gill, who opened the 2002 season with six consecutive wins on his way to record-setting season in victories, has only made it to victory lane one time after the first seven races on the 2003 season in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series Southern Division.

Gill is returning to a track he enjoyed success in last year when the Series visits Southern National Speedway on Saturday, June 28 for the running of the Bryant Heating and Cooling 250 presented by Capital Ford of Goldsboro. The race was an overwhelming success last season with a strong crowd in attendance and a race that featured a green-white checkered finish after 257 laps.

Another driver looking to continue his strong performance at the track is Shane Huffman. Huffman, who first visited victory lane in 2001, has already scored two wins in the Southern Division in 2003 and used the two wins in addition to several top-five finishes to enjoy an early lead in the point standings.

"We finally were able to run at a track where we have struggled in the past," said Huffman after his win at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL. "Now we need to continue to run well at tracks we know we can and Southern National is one of them. We ran second there last year and hopefully we can improve one position in June."

The Bryant Heating & Cooling 250 presented by Capital Ford of Goldsboro will be race #8 of 13 for the Southern Division in the Series and should give a clear indication after the race which teams will be among the top contenders for the top seed in from the Southern Division entering the Championship Series in the fall.

For ticket information concerning the Bryant Heating & Cooling 250 presented by Capital Ford of Goldsboro, please contact Southern National Speedway at (919) 284-1114.
