HAGERSTOWN, MD. USAR Hooters ProCup driver Eric Corbett is still on fire and had a top ten finish at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA this past Saturday evening.

Corbett lapped the .400-mile track in 16.135 seconds on Saturday's running of the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Pepsi qualifying the Clean & Shine, LSI Ford Taurus on the outside pole position. When the green flew Corbett raced pole setter Kertus Davis to win the first lap bonus points.

Although the Clean & Shine, LSI Ford Taurus wasn't running right during practice and again seemed to be having engine problems at the half way point in the feature, Corbett was in fifth place with three laps remaining when he noticed a tire going down on the restart. Young Corbett played it safe but remained on the track to bring home a top ten.

The race was slowed nine times for 54 laps of caution.

Corbett is currently sitting second in the USAR Hooters ProCup Northern Division points standing with only 22 points separating he and current points leader Jeff Agnew.

The South Boston race will air this Wednesday at 10 PM on Speed Channel.

Corbett's next race is August 9th at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, IN. Eric Corbett finished second last year at this track on a cold and windy afternoon.
