Sarvis Sees Victory Slip Away In Montgomery, Finishes 7th

Jason Sarvis and the RBR Team watched a victory slip away Saturday night in Montgomery, AL. Sarvis, who ran strong all day, qualified 2nd for the Miller Lite 200. "We developed a miss in the motor during the 1st fifty laps and dropped several positions", said Sarvis.

"We found a plug wire hitting the manifold and got it fixed without going a lap down. We lost a lot of positions but our crew made it up in the pits. These guys made a great pit stop and got us back up front." Sarvis ran strong during the last half of the race, working his way up to the 3rd position. With about 25 laps remaining, Sarvis made contact with Mario Gosselin who was running 2nd at the time. "We did not mean to make contact with Gosselin, he had slowed down as a result of a flat tire. I was on the brakes trying to miss him but I had no where to go. We got the black flag and were sent to the rear of the field as a result of the contact and that probably cost us the race."

Sarvis had to come from the back of the field with about 20 laps remaining but ran out of time. He brought the #92 Monte Carlo home in 7th place. "We had at least a 2nd place car tonight but we are happy to come out of here with another top 10 finish. We really wanted to make a strong showing here tonight to hopefully attract a sponsor. Our sponsorship deal with Bryant Heating and Cooling Systems ended last weekend but we hope to continue our partnership with them in the near future," said Rick Benton.

In the last 5 races the team has finished 4th at Indianapolis (IN), 2nd at Myrtle Beach (SC), 8th at Coeburn (VA), and 7th in Montgomery (AL). This event will be aired on Speedvision Thursday night at 9:00pm.

The next event will be in Jennerstown, PA on July 14th. For more info. go to www.usarprocup.com
