Atlanta, GA., (August 18, 2003) -- What started out to be a decent day for Blair Addis and the Dunlop Golf/Edwin Watts race team turned dismal as the day progressed at Peach State Speedway this last Saturday. Addis, who turned the 12th fastest lap times in afternoon practice, was lined up last in a field of 36 entries for the green. "Qualifying was called off because of rain and the field was set by points, making us the last car on the grid", said Addis. "We felt like we could have improved our situation had we been able to qualify the #68 Dunlop Ford".

Things continued to go downhill for the team after Addis brushed the wall coming out of turn four. "The car was really tight", said Addis. "I was having trouble in the corners, and when we touched the wall, it knocked the exhaust loose." The team made numerous pit stops, attempting to correct the handling issues and Addis took the field again. After exhaust fumes began to seep into the #68 Dunlop Golf/Edwin Watts machine, Addis was forced to retire behind the wall on lap 90. Emergency medical personnel were called to administer oxygen to the Greenville, S.C. driver, who made a full recovery.

Saturday night's event will be aired on SPEED Wednesday night at 10 p.m. (EST).
