Milwaukee Mile Not Kind to Jackson, Mansfield Up Next
Cincinnati, OH (June 12, 2008) - After a disappointing weekend at the Milwaukee Mile, Danny Jackson heads to Mansfield Motorsports Park in Ohio on Saturday, June 14 for the Greased Lightning 250. Jackson?s Redbank Transport/Lykins Companies/Greased Lightning Chevy faced several issues at Milwaukee and left the mile speedway with a 35th place finish. Not exactly what Jackson was hoping for.
During the practice session on Thursday prior to the Milwaukee race, Jackson?s car was not what he had hoped. He noticed that the engine was having issues in the few laps that he practiced around the mile speedway. After solving that mechanical issue, Jackson finally was able to get out on the track to practice on Friday. However, track conditions and incidents prevented Jackson from getting the laps he needed to get the car set up the way he wanted it.
Qualifying did not turn out as well either. Jackson started the race in the 34th position. Once the race got under way, Jackson?s laps were limited as he experienced a mechanical issue with the rear end of the car and had to pull off around lap 90. Jackson finished 35th. ?Not what we wanted to see happen at Milwaukee. We had a tough time during practice and it carried over to qualifying. I needed more laps to get the car figured out and ready,? Jackson said.
Now Jackson is looking ahead to Mansfield this weekend. ?I am going to get some extra practice time, so hopefully we can go there and be competitive. I need to go there confident despite the last race,? Jackson said.
Jackson has one previous start at Mansfield in last season?s USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division season where he finished 25th.
