Danny Jackson Returns to Mansfield for the Championship Series

CINCINNATI, Ohio (August 27, 2008) - - Ohio native Danny Jackson will head to his final USAR Hooters Pro Cup race for the 2008 racing season at Mansfield Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 30. Jackson will race in the first of the four USAR Championship Series races.

This year, Jackson finished 20th overall in the Northern Division standings.

In his most recent venue, Jackson raced in the regular series finale at Bristol Speedway on August 20th. Jackson started in the 28th position for the Aaron's 150. Unfortunately, Jackson was collected in one of the several accidents that typically claim machines at the legendary short track. Jackson suffered damage to the right front of his Redbank Transport/Lykins Companies/Greased Lightning Chevrolet which ended his night around lap 42.

"It was a tough race and Bristol is a tough track to race at. It was my first time at the track and I was glad to race on it. It adds to my resume, which is what I am trying to do. I need to get track experience to further my career even though the finishes may not be the outcomes I hope for."

Jackson says that Mansfield will be his last USAR Hooters Pro Cup race this year. "Financially, we can't make it to the remaining Championship races unless we get a sponsor on board. Redbank Transport, Lykins Companies, and Greased Lightning have been great this year. I really appreciate all they have done for us this year. They have been there 100 percent for the last several years. We'll give it our all on Saturday night and hope that our hard work will pay off and allow us to come back and play in the final three championship events."

The Charlie Campbell Memorial Sears Auto Center 250 will start at 7 p.m. this Saturday.
