Miller Motorsports faced challenges head-on at the Food City 250 at Lonesome Pine Raceway.

Weather played a big factor in the amount of time all teams had to practice and set up their cars for the night's race.

Miller Motorsports was able to get the car dialed in after a few practice runs and several minor adjustments. "We struggled a bit in practice, but made the changes needed to give Travis the balance he was looking for" said crew chief, Scott Prilliman. When it came time for qualifying, Travis stepped up and posted his best 2 lap qualifying effort to date in the Hooters Pro Cup Series. "I ran it hard and got a little high in 3 and 4, but felt great" said Travis of his 16.71 sec qualifying effort which put the 76n RaceTalkLive.com/ Arena Racing Ford Fusion in the 7th starting position.

Travis took the green flag and fell back to 9th during the first green flag laps, but quickly started making up ground. By lap 50 Travis had set himself in 5th place running with the lead pack, making sure to take car of his equipment for the long night ahead. Unfortunately on lap 95 Travis reported a right rear tire going down, causing the car wash up the track letting the field pass low. Before finding an opening to make it on to pit road, Travis found himself facing the wrong way in turn 4, bringing out the caution. At the half way point, Travis was gaining ground, showing that this young rookie can maintain his composure when things go from "Good to Bad" in a hurry.

By lap 150, while trying to stay clear of the lead lap cars Travis reported that his brakes were going from running the bottom line all the way around the race track, so again he hit pit road to check for possible other problems with the brakes, but none were found. Travis managed to hold on to finish 17th, with all the fenders on it.

Speed Channel will be airing the night's race on Wednesday, April 20, 2006 at 5pm, and then replaying the race again on Friday, April 28 2006 at 12 noon.
