Illiana Motor Speedway Welcomes the Hooters ProCup Series

Longs, SC - For the fifth consecutive year, Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, IN will host the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Northern Division and this year's race should be one of the most competitive ever at the track.

The Bakker's Produce 250 presented by Greased Lightning will be on Saturday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the half-mile track located just outside Chicago in western Indiana. And no driver is looking forward to the event more the Jeff Agnew, who hopes good luck comes in threes.

Jeff Agnew, a former Series champion and back-to-back defending winner of this event, will try and make it three in a row at the track. Last year, Agnew became the first driver to score a repeat win at the challenging track, holding off Johnny Rumley for the win.

"We always look forward to racing at Illiana," said Agnew. "We have been able to put together two good runs here and hopefully we can get another one as we get closer to the Championship Series."

The Bakker's Produce 250 presented by Greased Lightning will be followed by a 30-lap Limited Late Model race. The race will be No. 11 of 12 regular season races for the Northern Series competitors and could give a clear picture in the chase for the regular season top seeding from the Northern Division.

Last year, Rumley started from the Advance Auto Parts Pole and led 42 laps in his bid for the win and will be one of many drivers trying to keep Agnew from getting his third consecutive win at Illiana. Danny Sammons, Mardy Lindley, Sam Fullone and Benny Gordon all collected top-10 finishes last year and are expected to return in August.

Woody Howard, winner of the three of the last four races, used his second consecutive win in the most recent Northern Division event to pass A.J. Frank and enters this weekend with a 49-point lead in the battle for Miller Lite Northern Division Rookie of the Year honors. Both will be on hand at Illiana trying to clinch their bid for the $10,000 regular season prize.
