WINFUEL driver notches fifth consecutive top-five, jumps to third in points

Mooresville, NC- Mark McFarland ran his streak of top-five finishes to five as he brought his No. 32 WINFUEL Chevrolet home fourth in Saturday night's running of the Aaron's 250 presented by Tucson at Hickory Motor Speedway (HMS). Shane Huffman picked up his sixth win of the season. He was followed by Jody Lavender, Shane Wallace, McFarland and Joey Logano.

McFarland started the race from the fourth position with a qualifying lap of 15.62 sec. From the drop of the green flag, however, he had to deal with an uber-tight race car.

"The car was just really tight all night. When we came in for tires we loosened it up and we came in for more adjustments when the leaders pitted, but it was still tight. I had to run one groove up just to get it to turn," said McFarland.

The WINFUEL crew pitted early in hopes of keeping McFarland up front when the leaders came in for service.

"We probably pitted too early because we didn't have much rubber left on our tires at the end. After we stopped I just wanted to ride until the next caution, but we went green for a long time and I couldn't do that," sounded McFarland.

"It was a good night, though. We got another top-five and moved up in the points."

McFarland jumped to third in Southern Division points, 123 behind leader Shane Huffman.

The next race for the JR Motorsports team will be Saturday, July 16 at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va.
