Dean Motorsports gearing up for a strong 2006 season
(January 31, 2006) In their first year of competition in the USAR Pro Cup Series, Woody Howard and the #55 Chevrolet of Dean Motorsports quickly established themselves as a championship level contender. The Dean Motorsports team won three races during the 2005 season, took home the Miller Lite Rookie-of-the-Year award with driver Woody Howard and made a strong run at the Series Championship Title.
The #55 Dean Motorsports team admittedly got off to a late start in the season. They spent the first half of the season learning new Series, tracks and cars while competing with a rookie driver in one of the most competitive forms of short-track racing in the country. By July, their extra efforts had paid off as Woody took the #55 to Victory Lane at Kil-Kare Speedway and quickly added two more wins before the end of July. The team instantly became an overnight success.
"This year was the most fun I've ever had driving a race car," said Howard. "We learned quite a bit throughout the season and cannot wait to return to the track this year. In 2006, we're going to be more prepared at the start of the season with a few new cars and quite a bit more experience than last year. I think we'll be title contenders."
Dean Motorsports is currently seeking primary and associate level corporate partners to become a part of one of the most well established short track racing teams in the country with up-and-coming driver Woody Howard. Tailored marketing packages can be created with the goals, needs and objectives of individual companies in mind.
"Our team really made an impressive debut last year in the USAR Pro Cup Series considering the incredibly late start to the season that we had and we are working very hard towards creating even better results during the 2006 season. We are also working towards creating a team atmosphere that will allow our marketing partners to stand out from the crowd. One of the best ways to get that done is through creating success both on and off the track for our partners," stated team owner Jim Dean.
Based in Virginia, Dean Motorsports is one of the premier USAR Pro Cup Series teams and has a strong history of short track racing throughout the East Coast. The Dean Motorsports #55 Chevrolet Pro Cup entry won three races in their first season of competition, finished 4th in the Championship Series Point Standings and captured the Miller Lite Rookie-of-the-Year award. Dean Motorsports has also amassed countless wins in Late Model competition at various tracks across the East Coast and captured the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series National Championship in 2003.
