Johnson Motorsports Gears up for the 2005 Season
Thursday, February 10, 2005 -- For some the off Season gives us time to reflect, talk about, and enjoy the race season that has come and gone. For others it's planning, hard work, and lots of sleepless late nights preparing for what appears to be one of the toughest seasons in Hooters Pro Cup history.
Daniel Johnson and everyone at Johnson Motorsports is just that, hard at work, planning, rebuilding, and preparing for the 2005 season with a new outlook, positive attitude, and know how to make it even a better year than last.
Johnson, who finished 15th in the 2004 Southern Division standings is looking for even bigger, and better things to come in the upcoming season. "The DNF's certainly hindered our overall performance last year," stated Johnson. "But I feel like we have learned a lot of useful information in 2004, and that will help us even, and be better prepared in 2005."
For 2005, Johnson Motorsports had a few changes, and set even higher team goals but everyone involved feels geared up to the challenge. Cars are being torn down, and gone over. One has just been re-skinned, and the other is a new car they purchased mid season last year, and never ran. "We went and practiced with the new car, and I was really impressed on how good it was right off the trailer," stated Johnson. " We are planning on some more testing some time this month, and everything we have seen with this new car looks really impressive so far."
Johnson Motorsports will once again be carrying the No. 56 and have Charlotte Check Cashers Inc., Casco Signs Inc., Western Union, and Sharp Bullet Resistant Products on the cars throughout the Season. Johnson Motorsports will also be running HESS Race Car Chassis, Horse Power from Automotive Specialists, and RE Suspension for their Shock Program.
