Auto Meter Returns To Pro Cup
Instrument Company offers over $10,000 in awards for 2007 season
Myrtle Beach, S.C.-The Hooters Pro Cup Series announced today that Auto Meter Competition Instruments will return to the series as an official "Contingency Sponsor" for the 2007 season.
While it will be the second year for Auto Meter in the Hooters Pro Cup Series, it will be the 50th Anniversary for the company.
Since 1957, Auto Meter Competition Instruments have been providing top competitors the power of information. Instruments have been tested by the most rigorous competition environments on the planet, and can be found relaying critical information to drivers in all types of otorsports from record setting 300mph+ passes at Bonneville, to hot laps at the crowded high banks of Daytona. Every gauge, tachometer, and data acquisition system is designed and engineered with the power and precision necessary to communicate the exact information top race teams demand in the most intense competition environments.
"We look forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary in Hooters Pro Cup this season," said Marc Erickson, Auto Meter Director of Motorsports. "We enjoyed our first season last year and look for bigger and better things this year. With the amount of cars and competition, the Hooters Pro Cup Series is a great venture for Auto Meter."
It's also a great venture for drivers as well.
Auto Meter will award $250 cash for finishing first, $150 cash for finishing second and $100 product certificate for finishing fifth.
Over the course of the season, Auto Meter will award Pro Cup drivers more than $10,000 in cash and product certificates.
"We are certainly pleased to have Auto Meter return to the series for another season," said Tony Cox, USAR Series Director. "Contingency sponsors are a very important part of our series. Through their involvement, we're able to offer nearly $250,000 in contingency awards during the season, outside of our regular race purses."
Despite being in business for 50 years, Auto Meter isn't going to rest on its laurels during the Golden Anniversary.
"From our state of the art Nexus instruments to the most recent revisions of the traditional Auto Meter Competition Tachometer, we continue to build products with the same passion for performance, commitment to innovation, and high technology products, that began in the Westberg family garage so many years ago," said Erickson. "We thank you for your support and are proud of our 50 years of technological leadership. We look forward to a bright future and pledge to continue to build innovative & industry leading products with the same power, precision, and passion for the next 50 years."
