Steve Francis and Moring Motorsports World Dirt Racing League's PolyDome Super Series Davenport Speedway and West Liberty Speedway Recap

(Ashland, KY) Steve Francis and the Moring Motorsports team capped off the World Dirt Racing League's PolyDome Super Series season opening events this past weekend (April 2-3) by successfully transferring into both feature events at Davenport Speedway (IA) and West Liberty Speedway (IA).

Piloting the #15 Moring Motorsports/Mopar/Valvoline sponsored Freeport Recycling Centers and Moring Disposal Rocket Dodge Intrepid, Francis finished 20th at Davenport Speedway and 26th at West Liberty Speedway.

"We had a very fast car at Davenport, and we were moving up very well until we got caught up in a wreck," commented Steve.

The following night (April 3), Francis was maintaining a competitive race at West Liberty Speedway in his Mopar powered Rocket Chassis, until a rock flew through the window and stuck the 1999 World 100 champion on his helmet shield. The incident caused the Kentucky Colonel to retire the race and finished in 26th position.

"We had a top-4 car at West Liberty, and I felt that we could have been a contender, but the rock through the window ended our night early," stated Francis. "Even though we didn't finish where would have liked on both nights, we had very strong machines and we were competitive," says Steve.

Steve's incident caused minor injuries to the Kentucky native and is expected to race this weekend at Florence Speedway.

"I am doing fine now, and I am planning on being at Florence Speedway this upcoming weekend for the NARA events," concluded Steve.
